Remove full width design in Genesis Framework

Learn how to remove the full-width layout design in any Genesis Framework child theme using code.

Genesis Framework offers 6 different layout models that combine content with primary and secondary sidebars, but in most cases you don’t need all of them.

Although there is a growing trend to remove sidebars and full width design (without sidebars) is the most recommended today, you may need to hide it in a project.

If that is your case, with Genesis you can do it easily.

Snippet to remove full width design

Add this fragment to the end of the functions.php file:

When you use this code, the full-width layout disappears from the “Layout” section of the Genesis sidebar.

If you are looking for the opposite, you can delete all sidebar layouts by inserting a single snippet.
